Aether Design AI is an AI interior-design system that generates a photorealistic render and the buildable specification behind it — then judges its own output against the brief and against established dimensional standards, and renders again if it falls short. It is built in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and works in English and Tamil.

How it works
Most AI design tools are one step: a prompt goes in, a picture comes out. Aether is a loop, and the loop is the point.

It writes a specification first
Before anything is drawn, the brief becomes a structured design specification — dimensions, materials, lighting layers and the standards each choice answers to. This is the step that separates a described room from a buildable one.

It renders
The specification drives the image. Seven models are available and the choice is the customer’s, because a photorealistic living room and a graphic elevation are not best served by the same one.

It judges its own work
The render is scored against the brief and the dimensional standards — clearances, circulation, ergonomics, accessibility. The bar is 82 out of 100, and it is deliberately strict.

It tries again if it failed
A render that does not clear the bar is re-rendered, up to three attempts. This is the part that is expensive and the part that is the product: anything can generate a room, and the harder question is whether the room works.
What it is checked against
The judge does not score taste. It scores whether the room works: whether a person can walk through it, whether the furniture is the right size for the space, whether the lighting is layered, and whether it would be usable by someone in a wheelchair. Those checks come from published references, not from opinion.

Where it stands
Aether is in beta and is a live product: real renders, real accounts, real payments. It is developed alongside ongoing research into whether an AI system can meaningfully evaluate interior design rather than only produce it, and the methodology and results of that work are being prepared for publication.
